SISU Empowering Others spent three meaningful days supporting children and families as they prepared for the new school year. From organizing school supplies to participating in two community events, the weekend demonstrated what can be accomplished when people come together with compassion and a shared purpose.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, SISU joined Tysha to prepare school-supply packages for local students. Each package was carefully assembled with essential items to help children begin the school year prepared and confident. This behind-the-scenes work was an important part of making sure the supplies were ready to be distributed to families the following day.
On Saturday, August 15, SISU participated in the Back-to-School Drive at Fountain Hill Park. The event brought community members together to support students with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, and other school supplies. SISU was proud to be present, connect with families, and help create a positive start to the school year.
The service continued on Monday, August 17, when SISU participated in the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley’s Back-to-School event. The celebration welcomed many children and families and provided them with school supplies, community resources, activities, and encouragement. SISU was honored to support HCLV and contribute to an event that continues to make a meaningful difference for families throughout the Lehigh Valley.
These back-to-back events reflect SISU’s hands-on commitment to serving the community. For SISU, community service is not only about attending an event—it is also about the preparation, teamwork, partnerships, and personal connections that make each effort successful.
SISU Empowering Others is grateful to Tysha, the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley, the event organizers, volunteers, donors, and everyone who helped make these days possible. Together, we helped local students begin the school year feeling supported, prepared, and ready to succeed.
It truly takes a village to make a difference, and SISU is proud to be part of that village.
