This experience was more than just handing out flyers—it was a chance for the students to develop essential life skills. They learned how to engage with community members, share information about SISU, and represent a cause larger than themselves. These are lessons that will serve them far beyond high school, instilling confidence and responsibility.

After the walk, we treated the students to a special cultural experience: enjoying a limbe, a refreshing frozen treat beloved in Hispanic culture. For many of them, it was their first time trying one, and they had fun discovering the different flavors. It was a sweet reminder of how food and culture bring people together.

For SISU, this day was just as impactful for us as it was for the students. Watching them engage, learn, and enjoy the experience reminded us of the importance of working with youth. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity, and it reignited our passion for mentoring high school students.
